Mission Statement:

To prepare students for success in the advertising field of Commercial Art and Graphic Design. Students will learn to appreciate continuous learning, strive for maximum potential, and train in a team player environment. Success is achieved through the development of work related skills such as oral and written communications, creative production strategies, current computer software knowledge and other field related topics.
Upon completion, students will develop portfolios which showcase their skills and employability.

Description:

The course content will include design fundamentals, basic art skills, lettering skills, preparation of layouts, and illustrations, preparation of computer generated files for print, and development of specialized skills. The course content will also include training in communication, leadership, human relations, and employability skills, and safe efficient work practices.

This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the Commercial Art industry:
Planning; management; finance; technical and production skills; underlying principles of technology; creativity and portfolio development.

Students learn to use the latest Adobe Creative Suite software.
