Description:The Patient Care Assistant program is a planned sequence of 290 hours of instruction consisting of the Health Careers Core and three additional health occupation programs. A student who completes the applicable competencies at any one of the three program exit points may either continue with the training or exit as a program completer with a certificate. Upon completion of the entire 290 hours the student will receive an additional state certificate for the PCA program.

Those students who complete the Core & Nursing Assistant segment are eligible to take the State of Florida CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) test. All programs (except Core) include classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and clinical experience at various health care facilities in Lee County.
